  • The Glitch 134 Lower Marsh London, England, SE1 7AE United Kingdom (map)

Join us at The Glitch on Sat Mar 16 2024 at 18:30 GMT for our first event of the year!

Besieged, a fictional story inspired by World War 1, is an exploration of personal narratives, resilience and the spirit of Indian’s who dared to challenge the status quo during the British rule of India. Whether willing or shaped by circumstances, we see young people face internal reflection to understand how their decisions in the war shape their future and perspectives. The plot follows a young female protagonist, Swati, challenging societal norms. She believes India’s recognition in the war efforts hinges on self-determination. She embarks on a journey to study at Cambridge university, fueled by the hope to influence political governance of British colonies, but is tainted by the haunting fear of her cousin, Anik's fate at the warfront.

Please note: The rehearsed reading is approximately 30mins long.

We invite you to join us for our second part of our event: Networking.

This will be an opportunity to get to know our actors, and build your network with other creatives within the space. As we are a company led by emerging artists, we are always on the lookout for new talent and future collaborations! We are particularly interested in working with the global majority community. Interested? Let's chat after the reading and have some fun!
