Perform With Us!
At The Glitch, we work hard to create affordable and meaningful opportunities for artists to work with us. The vast majority of our headline programme is selected via open call - usually in April and November each year. Headline shows run for 7 shows a week, for up to three weeks. Or, if you’re looking for something a bit shorter-term, we offer Short Runs of between 1 and 3 performances. These are usually booked a minimum of 3 weeks in advance. HIGHLIGHT FESTIVAL 2026 - Applications Open!
From 1 - 27 July, our home at The Glitch in Waterloo will be taken over by the most exciting work before it heads up to the Edinburgh Fringe.
What we’re looking for:
Anything and everything, so long as you’re taking it to the Edinburgh Fringe. You don’t have to be going there for the whole month.
That could be:
a play
a standup comedy hour
your character comedy show
a cabaret
a storytelling show
clowning
a new musical
live music
Something else weird and wonderful that we’ve not thought of
there’s no limit to what we’re after!*
*except maybe circus shows. It’s a small theatre. With a hard floor.
Works-in-progress are very welcome!

What we’re offering:
For runs of 1-3 shows, it’s £75 per night and you keep 100% of the ticket sales.
For runs of 4 shows, it’s £225 for the run and you keep 100% of the ticket sales
For runs of 6 performances or more, it’s a £500 deposit/Box Office guarantee with a 70/30 split
Short Runs
For artists looking for a low financial risk way to try work, we also programme short runs of 1 to 3 performances on a rolling basis. Hire of the Theatre for a one hour performance slot is £75 – and you keep 100% of your box office.
We’re open to hires for all sorts of work, including but not limited to comedy, works-in-progress, clown, small scale theatre, music, magic, spoken word and more. We offer programming slots on a rolling basis.
The Theatre can seat 50 people. The space comes equipped with a professional sound system that can effortlessly connect to your laptop or phone, a projector and screen with HDMI connector.
The Theatre is available for performances Monday to Sunday, excluding Tuesdays. We offer three slots:
5:30pm show
8:30pm show
10:00pm show (Fridays and Saturdays)
Hire rate: £75
Access Notes: The Theatre is not wheelchair accessible. There is a staircase of 15 steps with a handrail on the left (descending). There is an accessible bathroom on the street level.
