Who will it be!? The stick & poke tattoo artist in the £1200 a month house share in Hackney? The grumpy loner with a permanent bookmark in Catcher in the Rye & scowl on their face? That one from that band that you can't quite remember but think you used to fancy? Paddington Bear? You?!

About the Artist:
Sarah is a writer/theatremaker based emotionally in Wigan (where she’s from and still creates work) but physically in London.

She produces work in Manchester with her theatre company No Door Theatre, set up with Georgia Affonso when the two of them got tired of watching boring plays about “Waif-Like Pixie Girl No. 2”. They are currently workshopping Sarah's play about grief in non-nuclear families.

As a writer, she was most recently shortlisted for the Lancaster Playwriting Prize and performed as part of Engine Room at the Clapham Omnibus. She has previously had work performed at The Other Palace, Deptford Literature Festival, Shoreditch Town Hall & Southwark Playhouse. She was winner of the Royal Exchange Theatre's Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting LocalTale award.

As a director her most recent works include a f-Undead musical for Beam Festival and The Other Palace & a play about eczema for Flawstate. She also occasionally expresses her anxieties through poetry and has been seen at The Pleasance Theatre and the Vaults.

Evie's work centres female and queer stories and artists. She is drawn to new writing and work that evokes poignant post-show chatter. Music is a central tool in her rehearsal room and safety, accessibility and collaboration are core to her practice. Her work for theatre has most recently been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Other Palace, the Hen and Chickens and the Omnibus.

Evie also works in film, where she is drawn to queer stories, dark comedy and new writing that evokes poignant post-viewing-chatter. With the foundations of her creative practice in theatre, Evie strives to bring the wholesome and collaborative approach of the rehearsal room to set. Her most recent film Sweet Potato has been selected for 10 film festivals internationally.
