WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY ISABELLE FARAH
Ancient Babylon, a long, unspecified length of time ago. Nobu is the King, living in his dead father's Shadow, with Jeff, his Grand Vizir, who actually happens to be British, advising him. His subjects aren't happy and in a bid to get them on side, Jeff suggests he either go to war with some nobodies called "The Egyptians" or arrange Royal Wedding, or maybe both. It turns out that Nobu's father has arranged for him to be married to a local princess, Amytis, who arrives in a flurry of feminism and orders about how things should be in her new Queendom. She is anti-war and anti-fun, according to Jeff. Privately Nobu thinks she's actually rather attractive and decides to try to make her fall in love with him. She thinks he's childish and smelly.
Can he change enough to make her love him? Will Jeff get to battle the Egyptians? Will Amytis be able to compromise on her values for love?
A historical, Middle Eastern rom com, and the origin story of the Hanging Gardens.
